B3 Break 23: Slow Down to Speed Up

For your B3 Break, I'm going to talk about taking a break and getting back to basics. I know because of the weather for me, I haven't been able to get out and run as much. For some of us, running or exercising helps to free our minds and get our best ideas. Also, pause and let your brain go where it wants to go. One of the things that I have been thinking about is the fact that we are rushing to get back to what is called normal.

“We’ve had so much change in the past few months. Now is the time to slow down in order to speed up.”

What is normal? We have had so much change in the past that, now is the time to slow down to speed up. What I mean by that is there's training and education that needs to happen now in getting back to the basics of understanding what worked, what didn't work and what will you do differently in the future. If we keep rushing forward, we are never going to take the time to stop, pause and make sure that we are designing the future that we want.

Slow Down: If we keep rushing forward, we're never going to take the time to actually stop and pause and make sure that we're designing the future that we want.

What I want you to think about now is where you can slow down to speed up and maybe even take a break. It doesn't have to be running or exercising. It could be painting, photography, listening to music or whatever helps you to give yourself some space and pause. Think about what areas of your business could you simplify and get back down to the basics and begin to learn again so that you can speed up for the future when you are ready.
