B3 Break: Being Open And Transparent

What we are going to talk about for our B3 Break is about being transparent and open. There has never been a time that has tested us more as a leader, coworker, friend and family member than now. As we start moving back into the workplace and coming into what our new processes and operations are going to be, it is important that we create an environment of openness and transparency that we realize that we are not in this ourselves.

Even on days that we're not feeling great or it's hard, that we allow ourselves to be open and honest with the people around us about how we are feeling. Create an openness and transparency about the state of our operations or business and allow the people around us to give us their ideas and give feedback on ways that we can operate going forward.

Transparency: Creating openness and transparency about the state of our operations or business allows the people around us to give us their ideas and feedback on ways to operate going forward.

We do not have to have all the ideas ourselves. A lot of times because we're doing individual work and we're trying to get our things done, it's hard for us to remember to stop and pause and maybe pick up the phone, email somebody, have a video chat and talk to them about some of the problems that you are facing. Even in the areas where you need to brainstorm and be completely open about and say, "I need fifteen minutes of your time to brainstorm this idea with you. Here's what we're up against. How would you think that we could approach this?"

Transparency: We do not have to have all the ideas ourselves. We may need other people's ideas to create an experience that's better than we could've ever expected by doing it on our own.

You make it some of the best ideas by allowing that freedom of creativity and innovation. When you think about times where you might be falling negative or, "This all seems too hard and we are trying to push against something to get business back to normal." That is the time to open yourself up to the people around you to get the support, be honest about how you are feeling and where you may need other people's ideas so that you can create an experience that's better than you could've ever expected by doing it on your own.
